My Passion: Why Is It So Hard For Others to Understand?

No matter how many times we go through this, is seems that neither my parents nor my grandparents understand how much I prefer peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to their suggested ham and cheese sandwiches.

Let me show you how strongly I feel about this. Below the video that shows the passion of my desires are the lyrics for those who do not understand Spanish.

Frente a Frente, Rocio Durcal

AGAIN and AGAIN
(Sung to the tune of Frente A Frente in the style of Rocio Durcal)

[Instrumental introduction]
[To be sung with deep passion, heartache, pain, and anger]

You ask me if I’m hungry,
You ask me what I want for lunch, [pointing your finger]
You tease me! Oh, please me!
Of course you know I’m hungry. [embracing your stomach]
When I tell you what I want,
Again and again, you taunt,
You tell me that I can't.

So why do you ask! [hands outstreteched]
Why do you tease!
Is it to harass? Oh, please,
My stomach is empty.
Of course I am hungry.
Again and again,
Of course, you know what I want.
So, why do you taunt
Again and again?

You know what I want.
It’s the same every day.
I want ….
I need…
I love… [left hand with index finger, thumb touching]
If I may,
Oh, please listen, please listen!
Do I have to say it again!
And again! And again!

All I want is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Is that too much to ask?
What part of PB&J is hard to understand.
Oh, again and again.
Why is it so difficult to understand?

Oh, why do you tease.
If not to please.

[and then a little, slow, flamingo, instrumental only; a dream-state of that perfect PB&J sandwich]

Yes, I am hungry.
I want…
I need ...
I love…
My peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

I don’t want your ham and cheese. [throw your left hand up and out]
[Sung with more passion, disbelief, anger, frustration]

Please, I beseech thee,
Just one little peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
And, no, don’t ask.
I’m not having carrots.
Either.

[Again, a little, slow, flamingo, instrumental only;thinking of the PB&J sandwich, clicking your tongue; spinning]

[Finale]
