Happy Halloween!

My sister is going as "Indigo Fairy" and I am a princess! We are all ready for trick or treating. I think the same rules apply as last year. Half of all candy goes to daddy! What we don't hide, goes to Papa Bruce.

If you click on the photos, you will see an enlargement.

Planet Earth -- You Call That a Movie! NOT!

I have the best sister in the world. She really takes time to listen to me.

Every Friday and Saturday night we have "movie night." One night, I get to choose the movie, the next night it is Arianna's turn to choose the movie.

Last night Arianna chose a nature movie about the ocean, "Plant Earth" or something. It was soooooo boring. I got upset at Arianna for choosing it, but today I apologized and Arianna accepted it.

But I still think I'm right.

It was a fish movie, and the fish weren't even talking! Booooorrrrrinng....

You call this a movie? I don't think so.

Pretty in Pink

Mommy let me pick out my own outfit for school today. I was looking for a pink purse as an accessory. If I get that pink purse, I'm going to put a pink iPod Nano in it.

Bento Boxes, the World, and Other Things Seven-Year-Old Sisters Should Know

While coming home from the live play, The Frog Prince, Grammy asked Arianna a question about countries around the world. I chimed in but Arianna asked me not to butt in, saying that I probably didn't even know what a "country" was. After all, she's seven, I'm four.

In fact, I did know what a "country" was. I told Arianna and Grammy that "a country is a compartment in the world."

Grammy asked me how I knew that. I told her that it's just like a bento box. Bento boxes have compartments and the world has compartments.

The compartments in the world are called countries.

I wonder if Arianna knows that "bento" means "convenience"? Ha.

A Word to the Wise

What not to say to my older sister: "Whatever." or "I don't care."

But having said that, I don't care. Whatever.

Autumn in New England

Arianna and I went apple picking yesterday. It was great! These are all the things we did, exactly as reported to Grammy when we got home:
  • Rode a train around the farm
  • Rode ponies
  • Petted farm animals
  • Picked apples
  • Ate at Friendly's
  • Had ice cream
But then when we got home, I had to get back to sweeping the kitchen. It's a never-ending job, cleaning the house, and it seems, sometimes, I'm the only who does it.

Mommy got me a smaller broom and a new dustpan to make it easier for me.

Sketching in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts

Grammy May got us a yearly pass to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Here I am making a rough sketch in my notebook so I can take it home and draw my own.

My Passion: Why Is It So Hard For Others to Understand?

No matter how many times we go through this, is seems that neither my parents nor my grandparents understand how much I prefer peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to their suggested ham and cheese sandwiches.

Let me show you how strongly I feel about this. Below the video that shows the passion of my desires are the lyrics for those who do not understand Spanish.

Frente a Frente, Rocio Durcal

AGAIN and AGAIN
(Sung to the tune of Frente A Frente in the style of Rocio Durcal)

[Instrumental introduction]
[To be sung with deep passion, heartache, pain, and anger]

You ask me if I’m hungry,
You ask me what I want for lunch, [pointing your finger]
You tease me! Oh, please me!
Of course you know I’m hungry. [embracing your stomach]
When I tell you what I want,
Again and again, you taunt,
You tell me that I can't.

So why do you ask! [hands outstreteched]
Why do you tease!
Is it to harass? Oh, please,
My stomach is empty.
Of course I am hungry.
Again and again,
Of course, you know what I want.
So, why do you taunt
Again and again?

You know what I want.
It’s the same every day.
I want ….
I need…
I love… [left hand with index finger, thumb touching]
If I may,
Oh, please listen, please listen!
Do I have to say it again!
And again! And again!

All I want is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Is that too much to ask?
What part of PB&J is hard to understand.
Oh, again and again.
Why is it so difficult to understand?

Oh, why do you tease.
If not to please.

[and then a little, slow, flamingo, instrumental only; a dream-state of that perfect PB&J sandwich]

Yes, I am hungry.
I want…
I need ...
I love…
My peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

I don’t want your ham and cheese. [throw your left hand up and out]
[Sung with more passion, disbelief, anger, frustration]

Please, I beseech thee,
Just one little peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
And, no, don’t ask.
I’m not having carrots.
Either.

[Again, a little, slow, flamingo, instrumental only;thinking of the PB&J sandwich, clicking your tongue; spinning]

[Finale]

Updating My Blog!

It seems it's a never-ending chore updating my blog!

It will be a lot easier when I get the iPad and I can do it on the go.  It's nice Grammy lets me borrow her computer.

Happy New Year!

Hi, everyone,

Arianna and I are enjoying "www.pbskids.org" -- in our parents' home office.
